SOLD BY THE OZ
Various formulations have included blessed thistle, most notably as part of digestive bitters. Blessed thistle shares characteristics with several other thistles, including milk thistle. Particularly milk thistle has been employed to promote the liver's healthy operation. According to herbalist Michael Moore, blessed thistle can be utilized similarly to other bitters that stimulate the upper gastrointestinal tract, such as barberry and gentian.
Precautions
Blessed Thistle should be used with caution by people who have allergies to other plants in the Asteraceae family, such as feverfew, chamomile, or Echinacea species, as allergic cross-reactivity to Asteraceae plants is prevalent. Before using herbal products, especially if you are pregnant, nursing, or taking any drugs, we advise you to speak with a trained healthcare professional.
